One of the many performers at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony last night at Toronto’s Centre For the Arts was Jacob Moon, a relatively unknown who was invited by the power trio after this unique interpretation of ‘Subdivisions’ was posted on YouTube. The song was one of four that heralded the induction of Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee and Neal Peart into the Modern Era songwriters hall category. Subdivisions was released as a single from Rush’s 9th studio album, Signals, in 1982. Other inducted Rush songs were ‘Tom Sawyer,’ Limelight,’ ‘Closer To the Heart’ and ‘The Spirit Of Radio.’
