Toronto – The decision by Universal Music Group to pull a large number of videos from MTV in the US will not affect the brand in Canada. According to a source at Much MTV Canada, the decision in the US does not affect us in Canada. Universal is still servicing videos to us here. MTV in Canada does not have a licence to play full music videos but we do play clips during some of our shows and breaks.â€
Universal Music Group pulled its music videos from MTV’s websites starting earlier thlast week as talks over new licensing terms broke down.
