Here’s Christopher Dallo performing the theme song to The 40 Year Secret doc, premiering on Jan 25 (10 pm ET/PT) on CBC News Network’s The Passionate Eye. Co-written by Dallo with Ray Cave, the song mirrors an incredible journey of lost love and redemption that saw music promoter Linda Dawe reunite with her first true love, high school mate Ray Cave. The two were separated in their teens when Linda became pregnant in the Sault. The couple’s parents wanted to keep the lid on the secret in a small town in the ’60s, and so Linda was sent to Toronto where she gave birth and had the child placed on adoption. Forty years later, Linda and Ray reconnected at a high school reunion. Old loves never die, the saying goes, and these two were married within a year, then captured the intervening years apart in a soon-to-be published book. Now the documentary and song put a special bow round an epic love story that has a truly happy ending. Yes, the child born out of wedlock has returned to the nuclear family and today Linda and Ray are doting grandparents and loving parents to a long lost and now grown-up daughter.
