The website for the Radio Starmaker Fund is now back on-line and ready to accept applications. Details on changes made to funding rules, as well as information on the next application deadline can be found here .
Details of changes made to Starmaker funding rules below:
1. In order to be eligible for funding, an artist must have begun production on the record for which they are applying prior to submitting their application. This does not refer to pre-production but the actual recording of bed tracks for the release.
2. The Board has increased the number of tour dates that can potentially be funded in the U.S. That territory will now have a cap of 30 tour dates and 5 promo appearances/showcases. The count towards the maximum number of allowable dates in the US will not go back down to zero. This means that any tour dates that have already been approved for in the States will be included in the potential cap of 30 dates (refer to the “International Touring Application” for more information).
3. All applicants applying for festival dates or tour dates where 4 or more bands are on the same bill are now required to include their guarantee for those dates in any touring application. Should this be the case, a booking agent’s reconciliation that includes the guarantees is required in order for the RSF to reconcile your file. If the guarantee included in your booking agent’s reconciliation exceeds the guarantee included in your original application, the RSF reserves the right to deny funding for those dates.
4. All approved funding must be spent no later than 8 months after each round’s application deadline. Requests to change approved funding that are made in the last two months of the spending period will not be considered outside of extraordinary circumstances.
All applications must be filed online prior to the next deadline of Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 5:00 PM EST. The ability to file an application will automatically be shut down at that time.
