Peter Gabriel is raising money for Haiti relief through downloads of his new song, a moving cover of the David Bowie classic, ‘Heroes’. The Gabriel track plays over imagery from the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake in this YouTube video.
The track is part of an album full of previously unreleased material now available through MusicForRelief.org, including work by Dave Matthews Band, Hoobastank and Enrique Iglesias.
Gabriel is also rehearsing material tied to the release of his first album release since 202. The two-CD‘Scratch My Back’ – consisting of song covers by artists such as Radiohead and David Bowie – and is to b be released on Feb. 16, and then on March 22, Gabriel embarks on The New Blood tour at select venues in Europe and North America. accompanied by a 54-piece orchestra sans drums and guitars.
